Well I thought this interview was about my album so I wasn’t emotionally prepared. Also my tears are not because it’s been hard for me they are because it’s so painful to have people not see Palestinian kids and people as human beings who deserve life and freedom. Nothing I go through advocating for the end of the genocide and a free Palestine is anything compared to people living through a genocide. So I will always speak up. And I can’t understand the silence. To not be willing to risk anything or to not be willing to handle criticism to speak up during a genocide that targets children? The silence from others, especially people who speak up for human rights unless it’s Palestinians is inexcusable and it allows the genocide to continue. It’s racist and cowardly and morally wrong. Silence is complicity.
