i think a lot about images. i think a lot about representational images. when i sit down and think about it, i think most of the images i've ever seen have been advertisements.

why are advertisements the way they are? to appeal to our appetites. and really, why is any representational image the way it is? what nudged humans to want to engage with image-craft in this manner?

These were the thoughts, more or less, that were bouncing in my noggin when i worked on these paintings.



And at the end of it, the position I've come to adopt is: to understand images, we have to understand appetite.
