Mรถtley Crรผe drummer Tommy Lee shared a truly wild confession on Dax Shepardโ€™s Armchair Expert podcast, detailing a โ€œrock bottomโ€ moment with bandmate Nikki Sixx thatโ€™s almost unbelievable. In the late 1980s, after running out of their usual substances like heroin and cocaine, the two resorted to mainlining Jack Danielโ€™s whiskey directly into their veins. Lee described being able to taste the alcohol in his bloodstream, an experience as intense and dangerous as other narcotics. This harrowing event was a profound wake-up call for Mรถtley Crรผe. Recognizing the life-threatening extent of their substance abuse, the entire band collectively decided to enter separate rehab centers in 1989. This marked a pivotal step towards sobriety and even led them to hire a band therapist โ€“ a unique move at the time โ€“ to help navigate their recovery while recording their massively successful fifth studio album, โ€œDr. Feelgood.โ€ Released in 1989, โ€œDr. Feelgoodโ€ became a commercial and critical triumph, cementing Mรถtley Crรผeโ€™s status as hard rock icons. Itโ€™s a powerful testament to how even the darkest moments can lead to profound change and renewed creative energy in music history, showcasing a band that faced its demons head-on. #MรถtleyCrรผe #TommyLee #DrFeelgood #MusicHistory #GlamMetal
