We waited over a week to hike here!

This area of Mount Rainier National Park was closed when we arrived due to wildfires in the area and it closed a week after we were there for the season.

This is the Emmons Moraine Trail!

📍 White River Campground (loop D)
🥾 3-4 miles depending on your adventuring at the end
📈 Minimal, switchbacks at beginning and end.
👀 The lower 48’s largest glacier!

At the viewpoint for the glacier, be sure to be prepared for glacial dust… yes that’s a real thing. It’s when the wind picks up the remnant from where the glacier used to be, and it is greedy and gross in both your teeth in your eyes!

Before you head here, make sure the area is open as there is scheduled road construction and seasonal closures from now until 2029!
