A major scare unfolded at the Armapur Estate Ramlila Ground in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, after a gravity swing suddenly broke and tilted to one side while around 14 people were riding it on Thursday night. The incident triggered panic among passengers.

According to reports, the swing's base, clips and bearings may have broken. All passengers were safely brought down after the power supply was cut, although two children reportedly complained of minor injuries. The swing operator and other staff allegedly left the scene after the incident.

Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and the swing's maintenance. The operation of all swings at the fairground was reportedly suspended following the incident.
