Hun strijd, onze strijd, internationale solidariteit! Leve de woonopstand!

On World Homeless People's Day, October 10, actions took place all over the world. With this message at the national housing protest in Amsterdam, we want to support our Spanish comrades in their fight for housing justice.

The death of Maricarmen shows us that capitalism and housing insecurity are intrinsically tied.

By coming together, we can claim housing rights, prevent evictions, and change the system that exploits us.

Their fight, our fight, international solidarity! Rise up for housing!

Happy birthday to my beautiful mom, Mieke. ❤️

I thought I’d share one of my favourite stories about her today, because alongside her extraordinary strength and wisdom, she had the most wonderful sense of humour! 😂

My mother taught me so much about life, but perhaps the greatest lesson was that even in our most difficult moments, we can find purpose by opening our hearts and helping someone else. It’s a philosophy she lived by, and one that continues to guide me every day.

What began with my mother’s simple belief in the power of helping others has grown into the @openheartsfoundation, carrying her message of love, compassion and kindness to people she never had the chance to meet. I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about her legacy. ❤️

I miss you mom, and I hope you know just how many lives you’ve touched. Your love continues to make a difference in this world, and I couldn’t be prouder to be your daughter.
