How many things we keep in our lives simply because changing them would be inconvenient?

Jobs. Cities. Relationships. Plans. Even versions of ourselves that made sense once and somehow became permanent, to then one day realise you don’t even know if you still want the thing you’ve spent so much time building.

That’s a weird thought.
Especially when, from the outside, it looks like everything is going well.

But the biggest changes in life usually come with big decisions, and those decisions are rarely neat or risk-free. People change their minds. They make mistakes. They take the wrong turn. And still, a lot of them would choose it all over again because at least it was theirs.

So choose yourself before you choose the version of life you think you’re supposed to want. The one shaped by how you grew up, what your parents expected, what looks impressive, or what everyone else seems to be doing.

Most of us say that all changes take time. That’s partially true. What really takes us time is making the decision of changing; and once that happens, the rest is a whole process of transformation

I think we all think about this more than what we would like to admit at some point in our lives, and sometimes just the thought of changing it sounds exhausting, but here’s a little reminder that choosing yourself is usually worth the effort 🫰🏼
