Afgelopen weekend ging Jong & Raadslid: 100 dagen politiek in première!

A woman’s body spends 280 days growing a baby, yet somehow she’s expected to recover in just 42 to 56 days.

In her powerful poem Six to Eight Weeks, Amy Williams beautifully puts into words what so many mothers experience after childbirth, from the physical pain and emotional exhaustion to the pressure to “bounce back” before their bodies have had time to heal.

Globally, about 1 in 10 women experience postpartum depression. We spend so much time preparing women for childbirth, but far less time preparing them for everything that comes after. No two births are the same, and no two recoveries will be either. Mothers deserve more information, more support and the time to heal without feeling like they’re falling behind or going through it alone.

You can bring all the technology in the world into an Italian/Sicilian household… but good luck explaining to your parents that Alexa’s name is actually Alexa. 🇮🇹😂🤌
