What an incredible honor to join Captain Alex Lin’s @b787busdriver final United Airlines flight from Honolulu to San Francisco, celebrating 38-year flying career! ✈️👏

Captain Alex and I first connected on Instagram a few years ago when he started sharing his aviation journey. As one of the early Asian American pilots to join a major U.S. airline, he has been a true trailblazer, inspiring many aviators along the way through his posts.

What I admire most about Captain Alex is his humility. From humble beginnings working as a restaurant busboy to fly on the Boeing 747 into Kai Tak, he remains incredibly humble and down-to-earth.

Captain Alex brought his family, including his four grandchildren, along for this special journey. The highlight was witnessing his final landing at SFO — an absolutely smooth textbook landing, To make the occasion special, the @flysfo airport fire brigade came out to give him a well-deserved salute!

Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, Captain Alex! Wishing you blue skies, tailwinds, and many wonderful adventures ahead. 🫡✈️
