As I experienced the Remembrance, I remembered who I am and where I came from. Parts of me came from different places, where I’m proud to be!
This photo shows a Polynesian woman recognizing her ancestor’s struggles, grief, hurt, and many obstacles but still chose to move forward and break those generational curses.
Although there are chains tied to her, that does not mean that she is not free. It simply shows that she still has ties to her ancestors, but she will no longer carry their story. She is making a way for a new story for her and future generations to come.
She shows gratitude, love and forgiveness to her ancestors. She is healing in this process. She remembers how strong she is. SHE IS ME 🌺
