Some days stay with us long after they end.

In 2017, our students spent a day at an orphanage nearby. They played games, sat side by side, and filled the room with laughter. Every smile they shared and every story they heard made the day a little brighter for everyone.

The biggest lesson we took is that simply being present, listening, and showing up can mean the world to someone.

Saw this on my fyp and was convicted to share. As someone who comes from Jamaica’s poorest class, it is concerning to know that there are millions of people still experiencing an even lower quality of life since hurricane Melissa an EVERYBODY KNOW HOW LIFE DID ALREADY HARD. Our loyalty should lie with each other, not with the government and we are entitled to regular published accountings of how everything is being handled. Big up to deh man here for saying it out loud.

Our Sun knows how to get in the spirit! 🎃   Years ago, our Solar Dynamics Observatory caught our Sun looking like a jack-o’-lantern, with active regions shaped like a carved face.   Swipe to see other cosmic curiosities captured over the years.   #NASA #Halloween #Space The wispy white gas of this star-forming cloud, Lupus 3, is 500 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius. It looks something like a wave of ectoplasm or stretch of cobwebs. Which do you see? As we set our sights on the Hourglass Nebula, it appears to gaze back at us. This creepy cosmic object is a planetary nebula, the glowing relic of a dying, Sun-like star. This ghoulish cloud of gas and dust, called the Ghost Nebula, is 550 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its long ghostly veil is shaped by radiation from the bright stars embedded within it. This witch is busy brewing baby stars! Named the Witch Head, this nebula is found 800 light-years away in the constellation Orion, just off the hunter’s “knee.” This smoky specter is the Cat’s Head Nebula. The intricate, wispy structures of this cloud of dust are traced by @NASAWebb’s keen vision.
