I took the time to go back to a book I started quite some time ago and I’m so glad I did. The Next Big Thing by Erin Scoggins is a contemporary romance that has the perfect mix of humor, heart, and small-town charm. 🏡

The story follows Cora Lockwood, a food trend forecaster who returns home to Sunrise, North Carolina, after a professional betrayal in New York. Her goal is simple: quickly liquidate her late grandmother’s beloved café, The Salty Spoon, to secure her financial future. However, her plans are instantly changed by Jack Harlow, a stubborn and brooding local chef who has staked his own dreams on preserving the establishment. To save the café from a destined foreclosure and an aggressive local developer, the two are forced into an uneasy 30-day partnership that quickly sparks a slow-burn attraction.
I loved the banter and undeniable chemistry between Cora and Jack! It’s a town of quirky misfits that somehow fit together perfectly! 👌🏻

I loved everything that came with this small town from sacred recipes to hometown parades all in a place where everyone knows everyone. It’s a feel good read perfect for Fall . I loved “Governor Sam” the oversized St. Bernard who had everyone’s heart!
I thought this novel was well written and the perfect pick me up when you’re looking for a feel good read! It’s something you don’t have to think about, you just get to embrace it with a hot cup of cocoa and a warm blanket, enjoy !
The first in “The Sunrise Beach Series”, I can’t wait for the next! 📖
