The very popular Old Monk rum's manufacturer, Mohan Rocky Springwater Pvt Ltd, faces over Rs 500 crore in losses after FSSAI banned its sale in Maharashtra unless labels change to 'rum-like' instead of 'rum.'

A news report in India Today stated that the Bombay High Court heard the dispute, with the regulator insisting on accurate labeling due to added rum flavoring and age-related descriptor violations.

The said report also mentioned that, despite the revised labels, FSSAI rejected them, blocking sales in Maharashtra, causing revenue loss and idle workers.

However, the court plans a final hearing on October 23.📉⚠️

She said, “This is our neighborhood.”

East Austin responded. @kkmgjinxd_moneybag 🫡

After a viral video showed a homeowner across from Huston-Tillotson University berating senior Bri Nunn over legal public parking, people came out to support the students and turn the block into a peaceful community celebration.

They brought music, protest signs, tables and food. People grilled, played spades and gathered in the vacant space beside the home. One sign delivered the message perfectly: “You bought a house, not our history. East Austin is ours.”

The City of Austin has confirmed that parking is allowed along those blocks of East Ninth Street, except in restricted areas such as driveways, intersections and corner clearances.

Police were reportedly called several times, but neighbors told FOX 7 that the gatherings remained peaceful and respectful.

This is bigger than one parking dispute. Huston-Tillotson was founded in 1875 and has been part of this historically Black community for generations. Nobody gets to buy a $1.5 million home across from Austin’s only HBCU and suddenly decide that the students, professors and culture were not included with the neighborhood.

Sometimes protest looks like marching. Sometimes it looks like barbecue, music and spades.

I’ve carried this story with me for years, and sharing it publicly is not something I take lightly.

During my senior year at Howard University, I experienced intimate partner violence. What happened changed me, and for a long time, I kept the details to myself. I didn’t tell my family everything until ten years later.

I’m sharing this now because I know I’m not the only person who has experienced something like this and struggled with what to do with it afterward.

I want to talk about what happened, what I’ve learned, and why the prevention and access to support work @hbcugolftournament is doing matters.

This is the first part of a story I’ve never fully shared here. 💜

Content note: This video discusses intimate partner violence.

If this is part of your story, too, you don’t owe the internet your details. Take what you need from this conversation and protect your peace.

A room full of lawmakers tried to decide the age of consent, and somehow every answer made things worse.

Nobody wants to speak first, so they literally play “nose goes” until one unlucky senator is forced to answer.

Every suggestion gets destroyed by the room.

Then someone introduces “dibs,” and somehow the discussion gets even more ridiculous.

The perfect payoff comes when an 18-year-old woman finally asks whether women should maybe have a say in deciding the law.

Complete silence.

Then one guy quietly calls:

“Dibs.”

The sketch works because every attempt at serious debate exposes how absurd the men making the decision actually are.
