Our girl, Lucy 🤍

Lucy’s arrival was nothing like we had imagined. After a traumatic delivery, she was rushed to the NICU immediately after birth in a turn of events that none of the doctors or staff had anticipated. No cute “C-section photos,” no hearing her first cry, no immediate skin-to-skin. Nothing like we had pictured, just pure panic.

Those first moments and days are still difficult to put into words. But through it all, we got to see just how special our girl is. We saw the love that surrounded her, the incredible care she received, and the fight she had in her, just minutes into her life. (She’s a feisty one.) Even in those earliest days, she started to show us a little of who she is, and we can’t wait to watch her grow and discover all the wonderful things that make her her.

We fell in love with the name Lucy before we ever knew its meaning. When we later learned that Lucy means “light” or “bringer of light,” it felt like it was meant to be. This little girl has already brought so much light into our lives. And in her own little way, she has reminded us that even in the most unexpected and difficult moments, light can still find its way in.

We pray she carries that light with her wherever she goes, touching the lives of others along the way, just as she has already touched and changed ours. ✨
