In liberal discourse, every vice is either a “structural problem” or “actually, a good thing.” Read about fentanyl and you’ll learn either that addiction is downstream of pharma’s predatory opioid marketing, or that we need to end the stigma around the drug and embrace its users. The approaches are opposites, but they arrive at the same affirmation: it’s not the user’s fault, and society should direct its ire elsewhere. The same goes for every overindulged vice: food, sex, drugs, idleness. Young men are the last group to whom “personal responsibility” is applied as judgmentally as it once was to anyone engaged in vice. The lazy young man in his parents’ basement, smoking weed and playing video games, is the universal object of scorn. Every liberal is a fat-positive, sex-work-is-real-work, fuck-wage-capitalism absolutist until they meet a 250-pound unemployed failson whose special interest is OnlyFans, then magically turn into Ronald Reagan, browbeating about bootstraps and personal responsibility. Perhaps people hold young men to a higher standard, still believing it’s a man’s job to create, lead, and provide, and see the failson failing at the patriarchal objectives we’ve supposedly abandoned in our Blank Slate conception of gender. Or perhaps the vice-addled people liberals see in parks and on sidewalks, who harass and intimidate them directly, are no longer permissible targets of criticism because of their identity. That would mean our views on overindulgence, and on individual choice as the first and last defense against it, haven’t changed. We’ve simply steered our frustration with a society overrun by vice away from those most obviously in its grip. The consistent view would be that the suburban failson and the man smearing feces in the park sit on the same continuum of post-industrial leftover men for whom the market has no use, and that neither is absolved of the obligation we all share: from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. Instead, we keep the worst of both worlds: we judge a mass-produced failure one man at a time, scapegoating the failson, excusing the park masturbator, and call the double standard benevolence.
Utusan Khusus Presiden, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, mengatakan pemerintah terus merampungkan rencana pembagian ponsel pintar atau handphone (HP) kepada masyarakat. Hashim menjelaskan, keberadaan rekening digital yang terintegrasi di ponsel penerima bertujuan mempermudah Kementerian Keuangan untuk mendistribusikan dana bantuan secara langsung tanpa perantara. Langkah ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan transparansi dan efisiensi penyaluran bansos di seluruh Indonesia.
