Today we are sharing Carriers, a solo exhibition by Hannah Rowan at The Edit Gallery in Limassol, Cyprus. We recently exhibited Hannahβs work in FLOOD at Messums West.
Developed during a period of research and production in Cyprus, Carriers presents a new body of ceramic sculptures exploring the act of carrying: to hold, contain, protect and nourish. Rowanβs clay torsos take the form of vessels, breastplates and protective shells, bringing together references to anatomy, plant life and marine forms.
Moving between protection and vulnerability, the exhibition continues Rowanβs investigation into bodies, water and material transformation, asking what bodies carry, what they pass on, and how they remain connected to the living world around them.

Stunning. It was lovely to see Hannahβs work at Flood. Very sorry to miss this with Fair Play being same weekend. Hope it goes brilliantly!
