Most of these are sayings already exist. Either Russian, German, Greek, amongst other things. Some of the words have been changed or added like "college" or "gold bar" but I grew up hearing a lot of these.

“Trying to walk up the down escalator” when something is possible, but there’s a much easier way “Buddy has on the fan and the space heater at the same time” when someone’s just doing too much and making no progress “I was in bed with the lights on last night” when you try to do something with no real forethought - maybe like approaching a woman with no game plan “Tickled a gassy baby” when you do something with good intentions but didn’t read the room. And now things are awkward.
