In late 2024, a Georgia family paid a veterinary clinic to humanely euthanize their sick four-year-old pug, Jaxon, due to worsening medical issues. Months later, the family was shocked to spot their dog alive and well in a Facebook post, living with one of the veterinary clinic’s employees.

Instead of performing the agreed-upon euthanasia, the employee had secretly decided to take the pug home to care for her themselves. Following the viral discovery and ensuing confrontation, the clinic employee officially surrendered the dog and returned Jaxon to her original owners.
