comment GUIDE for my full Chambord guide 🤗
save for future planning 😇
hidden in the middle of a huge forest in the Loire Valley you will find the most impressive castle in France 🤍
location 📍 Château de Chambord, Loire Valley
my in-laws live close by so I visit at least once a year, and honestly it takes my breath away every single time 🥹
the castle was commissioned by King François I in 1519 as a hunting lodge… with over 400 rooms and 282 fireplaces 👑
don’t miss the famous double helix staircase, where two people can go up and down at the same time without ever crossing paths! it’s believed to have been inspired by Leonardo da Vinci 🌀
the castle is surrounded by the largest enclosed park in Europe, as big as the city of Paris, where deer and wild boar roam freely 🦌
many visitors only see the outside but it’s SO worth going in and climbing all the way up to the rooftop terraces 😌
you can visit as a day trip from Paris (around 2 hours by car) but I highly recommend staying nearby to explore more Loire Valley castles 🚗
want all my tips from years of visiting? comment GUIDE and I’ll send it to you !
