Wrestling Wednesday and we're continuing our opening of the WWE Superstars range and today smashing off three figures in one group with Demolition - Ax, Smash and Crush
Now if I'm honest I wasnt a big fan of Demolition back in the day, to me they alwayts felt like a crapper version of the Legion of Doom. Maybe its because I wasnt as much of a watcher during their early run.
Demolition were originally a tag team of Ax and Smash, holding the tag titles for a record 478 days, and famously facing off as number 1 and 2 in the 89 Rumble. In 1990 they became a trio adding Crush to the mix, and utilising the old Freebird rule where any two members could defend the tag titles. After losing the titles to the Hart Foundation after interference by Hawk and Animal of the Road Warriors who had just signed for the company, Demolition would never hold the tag titles again.
After long term hostility with WWE over the rights to the name Demolition would finally sign deals last year and went into the Hall of Fame, and since then theres been a flurry of figures of them
These are cool figures, but as I say they were never massively my faves. It cant be denied that they are cool looking tho, with the bondage type gear and the spiked hooded helmets.
