Lawn care results like this really can happen in October and here’s how ⬇️

Scarify - remove the dead grasses and debris.
Aerate - this helps improve soil compaction and drainage
Apply super seed - you’ll be able to tell the difference if you cheap out on the seed 🤫
Apply lawn feed - we used the moss edition here due to this lawn being prone to moss!
Keep watered if no rain is due ☔️

Well the floors are finished! We really never thought the day would come. Holy moly what an undertaking! We knew that we would have to get them done before Halloween or they just wouldn’t happen until Spring. We made the plan to pull up the carpet and never looked back! The century old floors were beautiful in some areas but an absolute nightmare in others. It didn’t matter either way because we loooove black painted floors! We had lots of repair work to do, as well as a fresh coat of white on all the trim and stairs. Quite a chore! Once we started priming it started feeling real. We used tape and water bottles to create a little fence to keep Danny from wandering into freshly primed areas. It’s so funny that he wouldn’t even consider jumping the tape. Haha The fresh black floor just makes all of the pastels and candy colors pop! The stairs remind me of piano keys. We went with a simple pink area rug and runner and it really makes the space cozy. As soon as I rolled out the rug I had this feeling that didn’t make sense but also made all the sense in the world, I thought “I think Barb (Aaron’s mom) will like this.” As if she was going to be visiting soon. But we’d like to think that Barb & Skip have been watching over the entire process. 🥹
The new/old house is larger than our previous home so our collectibles are dispersed throughout the rooms leaving the living room to be a very calm, spare, pretty space.
