Anymaโ€™s highly coveted Sydney show, AEDEN, at The Domain over the weekend, came with some incredible visuals the artist has become globally known for. We, however, may have spotted a small boo boo on screen. Can you spot it? #sosydney #sydney #anyma #aeden #electronicmusic
Itโ€™s a bumper crop for new movies on the big screen. Anyone complaining thereโ€™s nothing to watch is not paying attention. โ€˜Diggerโ€™: Go see this on the big screen while you still can. I went in cold on opening night and found it beguiling, confounding, but incredibly thought-provoking. Iโ€™ve thought about it every day since. Last night, I went to see it again in a packed house. A hugely ambitious, stunningly made movie with extraordinary performances, not least Tom Cruise. Itโ€™s definitely a film to see and discuss. I really do hate the pile-on when a film doesnโ€™t make the money people hoped. The ongoing โ€˜sportificationโ€™ of movies through discussions of budgets, grosses and break-even points, mostly by people who havenโ€™t even seen the film, is so tiresome. Why not see the film, then discuss it? Either way, go and see โ€˜Diggerโ€™. 'Resident Evilโ€™: Zach Creggerโ€™s film was a blast. For me, the best video game adaptation in film, by recreating the amusing and exciting experience of playing a game for the first time. And badly. Watching Austin Abrams try and fail for 90 minutes is hugely entertaining. โ€˜Buddyโ€™: I loved Casper Kellyโ€™s film. The first 20 minutes had me howling. Then things take a even stranger turn. Much like his genius โ€˜Too Many Cooksโ€™, I had an absolute ball. Already a cult classic. One sight gag recalling โ€˜The Wizard of Ozโ€™ is my favourite of the year. Youโ€™ll know it when you see it. โ€˜Primetimeโ€™: Fantastic. The second Lance Oppenheim film Iโ€™ve loved in the last month. Robert Pattinson gets another fascinating role between his teeth. I loved the multimedia approach to editing and cinematography, harking back to peak Oliver Stone. A full AMC on a Monday night, too. Grown-up movies are back. โ€˜The History of Concreteโ€™: I loved John Wilsonโ€™s HBO show, so I was in heaven for another surprising, idiosyncratic odyssey. Funny, sad and beautiful, sometimes all at once. Itโ€™s also put me off chewing gum for life. Weโ€™re spoilt for choice right now. Even this very weekend, you have both โ€˜I Can See Everythingโ€™ and the uncut version of Ken Russellโ€™s โ€˜The Devilsโ€™ playing. Both incredible movies, and thatโ€™s not even the half of whatโ€™s playing. Viva the big screen!
This is a wall of sacred language the drunken boat of the poet and his words scrawled on a precious sheet of foolscap. Happy birthday Arthur Rimbaud. It is found againโ€ฆ. What? Eternity. It is sea mixed with sun.
