EXCLUSIVE : For Accra-based multidisciplinary artist Emmanuel Affedzie (@kojoaffedzie) whose practice spans sculpture, fashion, photography and film, light becomes a material in his latest work with LUMINA PROJECTS (@lumina_projects), a production and design studio exploring the space between object, form and function.

Beginning with wearable sculpture and moving towards collectible objects and installations, Affedzie works through material, instinct and experimentation to create forms that sit between documentation and imagination.

“Craft is the continuous effort to evolve and understand the world around me. Creating a system that engages with the world differently. Craft is an extension of the mind, hands and body through material,” he tells MANJU.
