Nearly a month after a grand jury declined to file criminal charges in Nolan Wells’ mysterious July 4 death, his parents have released nearly 300 pages of phone records and Snapchats. The documents reveal what the 18-year-old’s friends privately talked about (leading up to, during, and after his death) and what they agreed to tell the police if ever questioned.
___________________________________________________
As we previously shared, on September 21, a Mississippi grand jury revealed their decision not to file any charges in Wells’ death. They said they found no foul play and no criminal or racial motivation. Instead, the jury ruled his death was “consistent with drowning,” the initial ruling found by local authorities in Horn Island. Wells’ parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, and their attorney, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, condemned the grand jury and district attorney. The family continued to speak out and release their own findings. This included an independent autopsy showing “blunt force injuries” to the back of the teen’s head and body. The independent autopsy also revealed there was no water found in his lungs, throat, or stomach — which would have been consistent with a drowning as pushed by local authorities.

By September 25, Wells’ friends boldly denied deleting any messages and Snapchats from his phone and argued they would file defamation lawsuits against Ben Crump and others spreading misinformation. As Wells’ parents continue to plea for his investigation to be opened, on October 8, President Donald Trump said, “We’re looking at” a possible federal investigation. On Tuesday (October 13), reports began surfacing about Wells’ parents releasing his cellphone records, including private messages from 29 group chats. In the 292-page report, it show Wells friends reacting to news and speculating about his death. It also included messages about them reacting to police contacting them and what they should say — like asking for an attorney.

So they never discussed with their friends what they thought happened to him? I'm noticing what's not being said about those men. None of them expressed any interest, at all, in what happened or, could have happened to Nolan. All they cared about was public perception. I don't see any messages where they're discussing, or even asking anyone in the chat of they've heard from Nolan and/ or, what they think happened to him. I would think that the most important thing to them right now would be finding out what happened to their "brother". Yet, they haven't asked once, not have they put any pressure on the DA to find out what happened to him. Instead, they're going on a media tour to clear they names when nobody accused them, they weren't arrested and, likely weren't even interrogated by the police so, what's causing them to feel like they have to clear their names? They were never suspects so, why act like one? I just feel like they're not curious, at all, about what happened to their "brother" and that makes no sense to me. It's not normal unless they already know what happened to him.

Why did everyone care about the Nolan Wells case, but not the Akin Liverpool case. A case that was practically the same?

How is this helpful? It's not. The level of delusion and paranoia in the comment section is exactly why Americans are annoying

If I’m innocent & my friend wasn’t with me the last time he was seen alive, why would I need a lawyer? Why wouldn’t I assist with the search for him? Why would I be doing interviews to “cover my ass”? Why would there be questions about the seatow call? Why would there be attacks from my ppl on his parents who are seeking answers about his death? Why would I not tell the full story? There are so many why’s. #JUSTICEFORNOLANWELLS
