James Talarico worked to find common ground with one Texas voter who said she votes exclusively on the issue of abortion.

Talarico said that while he supports some abortion access, he said he wants to see fewer unplanned pregnancies and abortions overall, and that the issue should be viewed instead as a "public policy problem."

We who are pro-choice have to find the common ground. Of course we ALL want less abortions, and it IS public health. Unwanted pregnancy and making the choice to terminate can come with lots of heavy emotional / medical trauma, and for many, guilt and shame. For most, it’s not the best case, and we should all want to help women avoid this if possible. He is absolutely right, we can change things through strong public health, education and access.

I care about the unborn and the living, and some people are indeed single issue voters, here in California, the single issue I think is called Trump for some. We all die someday by the way. There can only be one truth, and if that truth is eternity in heaven or hell, then the decisions you make with your life, whether it ends early or not, matters. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever.

He might be a conservative acting as a Democrat, or he might be telling conservative folk what they want to hear to get elected. Either way, we can’t rely on politicians backed by big corporations. Follow the money

I remember a time when we could listen to politicians and religion was never brought up. I don’t care what anyone’s religious beliefs are. We are not the same. It has no place in our government.

Even if you don’t agree with his answer, you must respect his respect for differing views and how he answered the question. He actually answered it instead of rambling about other things, he was respectful, he was calm and didn’t name call. Our president can’t even do any of those things.

He's so brilliant, the best hope and example for the U. S. but also the world, along with Zohran (who cannot run for President because he was not born in the U. S., so Talarico is another great choice)

Here’s a novel idea….how about we clarify medically necessary “abortion” vs elective. Both of my miscarriages are labeled abortions. I can tell you it devastated me to lose them and it is a punch to the gut every time a medical professional asks, “so you’ve had two abortions”? I NEVER chose that. I would have died and both babies were already not viable. Also, why are we making this a political platform? It would be morally irresponsible to not consider treating people humanely, creating an economy where people can’t afford basic needs, allowing children to starve, denying healthcare or making it unobtainable, etc. but arguing “pro life”. Hypocrisy Wouldn’t it be wonderful if, as a nation, we were more concerned about human rights, healthcare, economics, infrastructure, education, defense..you know, the things we as Texans and a nation are failing miserably at? I had someone leave a political flyer on my door only stating that @jamestalarico had a radical left agenda by allowing males in women’s sports (which he wouldn’t have any control over). It had a large photo of a drag queen on it. That’s what my kids saw when they came home from school. So if we’re so worried about children and exposing them to such “morally” wrong ideas of drag queens (who have a better record of not committing crimes than most politicians), why are you plastering that all over the neighborhood? People claim they’re protecting children from such “dangerous” people (drag queens) yet they’re the one exploiting them and exposing my children to them! So we had a nice talk about values, words, and actions needing to align. To not trust people who bark about something being wrong yet posting it for everyone to see. My kids now know who the sick people are who stuck that on our door. Mind you, I never straight ticket vote because I have a brain and don’t just follow blasphemous politicians who claim to be deities. Who in the hell thought that would be ok to post that on everyone’s doors to “protect” the children from such “immoral” people. All you did was show hypocrisy!! Any drag queen I’ve ever personally interacted with only promoted love, humor, and acceptance.

Hurts to watch other women like her be so narrow minded and not be a critical thinker.

OMG you guys cut off the last part where she says NO - The Bible is not silent on abortion, that thou shall not kill and it's insulting when people say that. Whether you agree or not, that was a really shady edit!

In the western world, we have defined pro life only to unborn babies. But the Bible states God values all life. Thou shall not kill is not just referring to unborn babies, it’s for all humanity. which includes immigrants, the homeless, minorities, etc..
