Morgan Gamble, a 21-year-old Mass Media Arts senior at Clark Atlanta University, died Tuesday night after a reckless driver struck her vehicle. According to police, Nikolai Dunford was driving 94.4 MPH in a 35 MPH zone when his vehicle slammed into Gamble’s car at the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Glen Street in Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood, just south of downtown. She was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where she later died from her injuries, the Atlanta Police report. Dunford, 36, was charged with speeding, reckless driving and homicide by vehicle in the first degree and booked into Fulton County Jail. Morgan was a student producer assistant on Netflix’s “A Different World” sequel and even appeared in the pilot episode. Showrunner Felicia Pride shared a tribute on Instagram saying she was “glad she’s forever a part of A Different World.” Beyond the show, Morgan was a former Miss Omega Psi Phi and a collegiate softball athlete. Her father George Gamble described her as someone who “knew what she wanted” and was already on her way to achieving it, WSB-TV reports. Her mother Brandi Gamble said: “He deserves whatever it is justice will give him.” This also happened during Homecoming week at Clark Atlanta University. Incredibly senseless behavior.
