In 1999, I was part of a group from Columbia University School of Public Health that formed one of the first global nonprofits addressing child trafficking-the International Organization for Adolescents (IOFA). This organization has started many cutting edge programs that benefit vulnerable youth, including co-sponsoring the Westchester County Anti-trafficking Task Force with the Westchester county DAs office.
