Here is 7 more from back cat. I recall driving home from the studio down Camden Road after I’d finished “Garden of Love” and I played the cassette run off in my car of the final mix and I thought this is a bit boring. On this occasion, I was very very happy to be proved wrong. I feel like it’s happened the other way round far more times where I thought something was better than it was immediately after finishing it then gone off it over the following months. I can also remember being at the end of a long session with Dianne Charlamaigne and i played her an instrumental called “piece of the action” to see what she thought of it, she started humming the hook for “secret life of us” with no lyrics and immediately I knew we had a great chorus
