Mexico destination weddings don’t always have to mean palm trees and the beach.

I wanted to explore a completely different side of Mexico with this one. Something more editorial, cultural, foodie and architectural, built around the feeling of spending an entire wedding weekend in Mexico City.

The front became part wedding stationery, part illustrated city guide. A little Roma Norte and Condesa map surrounded by Chapultepec, Bellas Artes, Xochimilco, mercados, a tianguis, lucha libre, tacos, churros, mezcal and all these tiny details that make the city feel like the city.

And this one was EPIC to create.

There were so many individual illustrations, so much playing with the composition, and a ridiculous amount of moving tiny things around until everything somehow fit together without feeling crowded. 😂

Then I went in the complete opposite direction on the back. Lots of breathing room, just a few little painted details, and all of the actual wedding weekend information laid out simply.

So the front says, go explore Mexico City.
The back says, here’s where you need to be.

I think this might be one of my favorite designs I’ve created this year.
