2 days agoI mostly drive and only cycle a few times a month but it’s so obvious that I’m in a much safer situation in a bike lane than I am on a street with traffic. I think it’s responsible for the city to ensure cyclists have safe routes to get around. Plus encouraging cycling is good for people’s health.
3 days agoThere's a clear sidewalk just to the right you can use...just bike safe on it when the laws get changed so you can
3 days agoYet - you can’t change that can you? The needs of the many will always win. Adjusting your mindset is perhaps a good thing at this point.
3 days ago2/3rds of Torontonians want the lanes removed. Cyclists actions in blocking removal is not a "peaceful" protest as these are the usual ANTIFA tactics and suspects who instigate purposely, and should be deemed as intimidation, interference, and public mischief. These ppl are over grown whiney children when they don't get their way, and the only ppl putting them at risk is themselves for putting themselves in a position of riding a recreational mode of travel on roads built for motor vehicles, who take away a lane of vehicle traffic for cyclists who only modesty use the lanes from April-Nov. Ppl in vehicles are not even 100% safe from possible fatalities either, yet these clowns put themselves in even more dire circumstances by getting on roads with a bicycle which is no safer than roller blading or skateboarding on motorized roadways. If they wish for bicycle lanes, then cyclists should be licensed, insured, and plated to be on the roads and quit whining about "safety" when you comprised that willingly with your decision to ride a stupid bike on a motorized roadway. Otherwise grow up & take transit like normal adults do. Bike lanes do not belong on main roads at all. They're as much an eys sore as the woke circus clowns on the bikes.
3 days agoremoving a bike lane doesn't create another lane for cars. the bike lane is too narrow
