Introducing... Hannah! 💜

A fellow Virgo joining me from Oxford Brookes as a VIRGO VOLUNTEER, with her fantastic experience in studying BSc Events Management! ♍️

When I saw her application, I was THRILLED to have her on the Virgo team for this month before Missing Soul #7. Read a little bit about her by scrolling through the post!

"Hi, I’m Hannah! 👋

I’m a BSc Events Management student at Oxford Brookes University, and I love being involved in every stage of an event, from creative planning behind the scenes to seeing everything come together on the day!

Outside of uni, I enjoy exploring new places, attending live events and trying new things. I’m a people-oriented person who loves meeting new people, getting creative and taking on new challenges.

I’m so excited to volunteer with Virgo Events and get involved with Missing Soul #7! I’m looking forward to learning, getting stuck in behind the scenes and seeing what goes into bringing a Virgo event to life."

Four words are enough to bring the whole room to a standstill. Forrest Gump looks at a small boy, and the question he asks is the quietest, bravest thing in the scene.

In Forrest Gump (1994), Tom Hanks plays Forrest with almost no defense, and Robin Wright’s Jenny answers with a mix of tenderness and urgency. The “Is he like me?” moment lands because it is not really about intelligence. It is a relatable moment about a parent’s fear of passing on their own struggles, asked out loud for the first time.

The visual storytelling is simple and patient: a modest living room, a long close-up as Forrest’s eyes fill, and a pause where the answer sinks in. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, this scene works as a compact character study without raising its voice once.

English Translation: Some are saying that as a journalist, I shouldn't have chanted "Amit Shah Murdabad." I took the name of the man who is truly responsible for this thuggery. I spoke the truth even in that mob of goons during difficult times. I may never fulfill a greater journalistic duty in my life than this. The situation in the country is such that no one is being allowed to protest. Little girls are being beaten on the streets. The police aren't even arresting them. The courts are releasing them the very next day. On the orders of these goons, the police are arresting ordinary protesters and journalists. In three days, more than 36 journalists have been detained. Thousands of protesters have been illegally detained. Yesterday, around 10 journalists were surrounded by a BJP mob and prevented from doing their journalistic work. And the police are providing full protection to these goons. If Amit Shah is responsible for this open thuggery happening on the streets, then who should we hold accountable? If you don't have the guts, then just sit quietly at home- you're afraid these goons will corner you the very next day. They're already doing it anyway. Go ahead and be scared to even take the name of the Home Minister responsible for the barbarism unfolding in this country.

I consider Amit Shah the murderer of India's democracy, so I take his name openly. I don't pretend to uphold the purity of being a journalist. If the mob tears me apart, I'll invoke the name of my ancestor—Bhagat Singh. I'll say Inquilab Zindabad. And I'll name that goon who is truly responsible for this system. As long as I was reporting, I didn't name any political leader. But when me and other journalists like me are prevented from doing our work, at that moment I'm an equal-status protester as well—and a journalist too. At that time, I'm a citizen of India.
