Some of the biggest hearts I’ve ever ridden have belonged to Thoroughbreds. 🏇❤️
I’ve always had a soft spot for these horses, which is why supporting organizations like BEYOND the Backstretch means so much to me.
What I love about their mission is that they’re creating a way for our equestrian community to give back through the sport we love. By partnering with sponsors and businesses, BEYOND the Backstretch hosts two shows per year. Those entries generate revenue, with 55% going directly to selected Thoroughbred aftercare and rescue organizations and another 10% reinvested into future divisions to keep the impact growing.
In 2026 alone, the program expanded to 26 partner events across multiple disciplines. That’s 26 more opportunities to turn our time in the show ring into meaningful support for the horses who deserve it.
Thoroughbreds give us so much. They show up, they try, they fight for us, and they have a way of capturing your heart that’s hard to explain until you’ve experienced it yourself. Their lives don’t lose their value when their racing careers end. They deserve the chance to find their next purpose, and the people and programs working to make that happen deserve our support.

How do you choose? I want my next horse to be a thoroughbred and I definitely want to event. What would you recommend looking out for?

Yes yes yes!!!! They run their heart out for humans and unfortunately some end up in the slaughter pipeline or found in kill pens. That is all I have had are OTTB's. They may take awhile to get close but once they do they are a partner like no other!! 🌹
