An internal investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (#CMPD) has reportedly found “no evidence” that a racist group chat involving officers impacted criminal cases or law enforcement actions.😳👀 Police Chief Estella Patterson announced that the department reviewed body camera footage, arrest records, traffic stop data, and complaint histories to determine whether the officers’ alleged biases influenced their work. “As of this point, we have not found any evidence of this,” Patterson said. ICYMI: the investigation stems from a group chat uncovered during a separate State Bureau of Investigation inquiry into an officer’s misuse of #Flock cameras. The messages reportedly spanned several years and contained racial, s3xual, and religious bias. It’s also alleged that the officers used the group chat to compete over who could pull over the most Black drivers. According to reports, over half a dozen officers were involved. Three have since resigned, while an internal board unanimously recommended terminating three others. Patterson described her reaction as “one of disgust, anger and frustration,” adding, “The allegations against them are serious, they’re deeply troubling, and frankly, I’m disappointed that we’re even having to talk about this today.” Although the department says it hasn’t uncovered evidence of discriminatory enforcement, Patterson says she’s pushing for further accountability. CMPD plans to seek the revocation of the officers’ #NorthCarolina law enforcement certifications, and she has requested a federal review for potential civil rights violations. The department is also strengthening body camera audits, reviewing hiring practices, and expanding oversight measures to prevent similar misconduct. #TJBCrew, are y’all satisfied with the outcome of this investigation?🚔
Inside a billionaire’s $145 million French château, where elegance finds contemporary expression in a grand residential vision 🏡🤍 A pale stone façade, slate mansard roofs and ornamental balconies establish the architectural character, while clipped hedges and white hydrangeas frame a pool courtyard designed for leisurely afternoons. Beneath the pavilion, a crystal chandelier brings the formality of the interiors into the open air. Inside, an ivory palette connects rooms defined by intricate mouldings, soaring windows and carefully layered textures. The bedroom pairs a tufted headboard with soft upholstery and landscape artwork, while the bathroom centres on a freestanding marble tub. In the drawing room, a carved fireplace and an oversized mirror create a natural focal point beneath cascading crystal. The same attention extends to the leisure spaces. Arched windows illuminate the private gym, and a chandelier-lined garage gives a black Mercedes-AMG G 63 and red Ferrari a suitably theatrical setting. Throughout, classical ornament and modern comforts come together in a home imagined around light, symmetry and the pleasure of everyday rituals.
The Last Photo 📸 This should have been the Last Photo. But it’s just another photo. And I’m so grateful. 16.10.2008 - 18 years ago My #AliveDay 🥂 18 years ago today, at 4pm, my life changed forever when I was hit by a speeding drunk driver. Which means that today, at 36, my heart has officially been beating for long enough to celebrate with champagne. 🥂 8 years ago I wrote the words in the second photo, and they ring just as true today. Since then, there have been so many more adventures. Met some of the most amazing people. Fallen in love, made so many amazing memories at work and in my personal world, countless moments in what turns out to be the great love of my life: Formula 1 …and been able to work for the sport in ways I never imagined, winning the Indy 500, losing 24hr endurance racing, even getting to work on an F1 movie. Places I never imagined I’d go, things I never dreamed I’d do, and even more extraordinary people I’ve been lucky enough to meet along the way. Every 16th October, I try to take a moment to stop and reflect, and more than anything be thankful and celebrate it. Because amongst all the noise of the world, the scary things, the sad things, the heartbreaks, the disappointments, and even the completely mundane, boring days, it’s so easy to forget the absolute magic of just being alive. Of getting to experience all of it. The wonderful bits and the rubbish bits. The big adventures and the quiet Tuesdays. The people we love, the people we lose, the dreams that come true and the ones that don’t. All of it is life. And all of it is a bonus. I know how lucky I am to have been given a second chance. So many people never get one. And without sounding too much like the ending of Saving Private Ryan, I really hope I’ve earned it. But more than anything, this is a reminder to myself to never take any of it for granted. Here’s to 18 years of bonus time, and hopefully many more. ❤️🥂 16.10.2008. My #AliveDay 📸
