Runner on third , 1 or no outs just used to mean a run. Especially when you’re facing good playoff caliber pitching. It’s just not good baseball.

Because analysts needed to create positions for themselves in the industry. Information is great but how it used is key. No matter how the game has been played for 150 years the outcome is nearly unchanged. Teams avg Between 4 and 5 runs per game whether it’s the dead ball era, golden era, steroid era, launch angle era etc. so why not play the game in a truly entertaining way, the way it was meant to be played. The “winning baseball” way. The last decade has been so terrible to watch and so remedial. I’m a lifelong Dodger fan that appreciated watching the Brewers play baseball the “right” way.

Sure wish this would stay true but all the front offices will continue to study the analytics behind their computers instead of seeing what’s happening on the ball field
