I’ve been really struggling with how I look on camera lately, so here are some things that have helped in case you’re struggling too
The equipment I used to make this video:
- Sony a7s3
- Samayang 24mm 1.8
- Sennheiser mzs 600
- smallrig 220b
- aputure light dome
- 2X aputure mini lights I have no idea what they’re called
When it comes to how I set up my shot the other thing I forgot to mention is choosing a shirt color that contrasts with your skin tone well. I usually go for darker colors otherwise it would wash me out.

Everyone has different preferences, but generally speaking most people find that a wide angle lens distorts their features and makes them look worse. Something in the 50-85mm range is generally accepted as slimming and flattering.
