Before the luxury listings, the global network, and the opportunities I have today… there were open house signs.
A LOT of open house signs.
When I started my real estate business, I committed to 4–6 open houses EVERY weekend. Sometimes more.
Two Friday. Two Saturday. Two Sunday.
I was a single mom. I had responsibilities at home, service commitments to my church community, and all the same demands on my time that everyone else has.
But I made a decision.
If I wanted to build something extraordinary, I had to be willing to do the ordinary things consistently.
I put out the signs. I opened the doors. I greeted strangers. I answered questions. I followed up.
And then I did it again.
And again.
Imagine driving through a neighborhood and seeing 15 signs with the same agent’s name and face.
You might not need a Realtor that weekend.
But when you do?
You already know who shows up.
That’s the part of this business people underestimate.
Visibility creates familiarity.
Familiarity builds trust.
Trust creates opportunity.
Real estate was never supposed to be a get-rich-quick business.
It’s a PEOPLE business.
And people need to see you show up before they’ll trust you with one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
Those signs weren’t just advertising houses.
They were building my business, one weekend at a time.
To the agents wondering where their next client will come from:
Sometimes the answer isn’t another lead source.
It’s another open door.
