Congratulation, @tilerpeck !!! It’s funny: when I think of JR’s choreography, I think “human.” But this piece feels almost untouchable or like an idealized presentation of humanity. An abstraction. In this way, it feels, at least to me, Balanchine-ian. It’s also fascinating the way you two seem to move almost like a single entity. There isn’t the same sort of dialogue between the two figures with their eyes that I’m accustomed to (such as in “Dances”). Maybe this is just the case with the passage in this video? What there is, in abundance, here is a wonderful sort of perfume. It evokes, at least for me, the same sort of feeling I associate with the floating first pas de deux from “Chaconne.” Utterly sublime choreography and dancing! Bravi!
