Do you want to lose weight, or fat?

(because there’s a big difference)

Losing weight can come from 1 of 2 places

Either body fat, or from lean body mass (like muscle)

And which one you lose ends up making a massive difference

Doing crash diets, over-training, and just trying to lose weight too fast almost always leaves you worese off than when you started

And yes, focusing on a slower, more sustainable approach (e.g. fat loss instead of weight loss) does take a bit longer, but the progress you make will actually last (and isn’t that the whole point?)

I have free calorie and protein calculators in my bio if you need help figuing out how much you need for a fat-loss approach too

you only turn 27 twice apparently

Oh! The NRIs are fighting! Y’all know how I feel about influ culture and NRIs. And an entitled influ NRI? Too good not to discuss.

In today’s court session of petty influ cases, we have Natasha Thasan Vs The entire history of sari draping. Like a fight-or-flight response, Bratty Natty has gone up and put an emphatic video up claiming her “essence” was stolen by the team of ‘Best of the Best’ and styled Maitreyi in a draped blouse design that apparently belongs to her. She starts by saying she really didn’t want to talk about this, and then goes on ranting about how she was not credited for the design. The video has all the classic ingredients—entitlement, invisible tears, screenshot-worthy facial expressions and a lot of misinformation.

For starters, I was not aware that sari drapes were now intellectual properties and people were copyrighting them. Second, she has unwittingly (because wit is out of the equation) tried to erase a whole rich, centuries-old history of Indian draping and saris. Are we now claiming every and any thing as ours?

Maitreyi has arrived in the comments with her side and said Natty knew everything all along and now has unfollowed her (bechari). Also X/Twitter is doing what they do best— troll the fuck out of the situation. Enjoyed.

i think you all know what comes next

keke’s type is cool, but not too cool

keke palmer episode out now! link in bio.

Ancient stones. And a prayer for a better future.

My fifth visit to the Western Wall, and it still stops me in my tracks. A surviving retaining wall of the Second Temple complex, carrying more than 2,000 years of history, and a Jewish connection to Jerusalem that reaches back even further.

Jerusalem is sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims. That should inspire respect for one another.

Religious or not, there’s something here I wish everyone could experience. And getting to see it from this perspective was a privilege I don’t take lightly.

Before we let a headline or a comment section teach us to hate an entire people, let’s learn their history. Listen to their stories. And, if we have the opportunity, visit and meet them.

You can care deeply about Israelis and Palestinians. You can stand against antisemitism and stand for Palestinian dignity and safety. None of those things should be in conflict.

Most of what I prayed for will stay between me and God. But I’ll share this: I prayed for peace for Israelis and Palestinians, for Jews around the world, and for everyone living with fear.

May we all do more than pray for it. May we help make it possible.
