Best London tour ever. 845HP 1965 Hoonicorn with Ken Block.
Ken Block wasn't just a driver. He was a force of nature who turned YT into his personal playground. Before the rally fame, he co-founded DC Shoes, sold it, and at 37 decided to chase his childhood dream of racing. He wasn't the most decorated rally driver, but he was the one who made the whole world care about drifting and car culture. His death in January 2023 hit everyone hard.
This legendary episode was filmed back in 2016, when he took Matt LeBlanc on a tour of London in the Hoonicorn. The BBC even got complaints about the noise from locals, but that's exactly what made the episode unforgettable. In ten minutes, he turned a boring tour into an adrenaline show, and LeBlanc's reactions were priceless.
Ken's approach to stunts was pure and fearless. He once said that handling the fear was getting harder as he got older, but he kept pushing the limits anyway. That's why people loved him. He made the impossible look fun, whether he was drifting around a three-wheeled Reliant Robin, chasing James May around an airfield, or doing donuts on Whitehall. He was a visionary, a pioneer, and a true legend who brought millions of people into the car community. He'll always be the guy who showed us that cars aren't just for getting from A to B - they're for making some noise and having a blast.
