A Remarkable Week of Learning, Ideas, and Possibilities 🇳🇬📚
Spending time with Professor Po-Shen Loh, Amos the Maths Guy, and Victor Tarfa has made this a truly remarkable week.
Beyond the conversations and shared moments, the experience has offered an opportunity to reflect more deeply on the purpose of education and its potential to transform lives and societies.
One of the things I value most about engaging with educators and intellectuals is the opportunity to think beyond the classroom. Education should be more than the transfer of information or the pursuit of certificates and grades. It should cultivate curiosity, develop critical thinking, nurture creativity, and equip people to identify problems and create meaningful solutions.
For Nigeria, this raises an important question: Are we educating people merely to pass examinations, or are we equipping them to think, innovate, solve problems, and transform their communities?
Our educational future depends not only on what we teach, but also on how we teach, the questions we encourage students to ask, and the opportunities we create for them to discover their potential.
Professor Po-Shen Loh’s time in Nigeria has made this a particularly meaningful week of reflection, learning, and renewed appreciation for the possibilities of education.
Grateful to Professor Po-Shen Loh, Amos the Maths Guy, and Victor Tarfa for the conversations, shared experiences, and inspiration. The best educational encounters do more than give us answers; they inspire us to ask better questions.
