A sunny afternoon. The top pulled back on the Jeep. A trail, fresh air, nowhere we needed to be, and time with Jansen.

My favorite part, at 12 years old, she still reaches for my hand and holds it while we walk. 🫶🏻 I know how lucky and important this is and I’m constantly trying to notice and be present for them.

Today was simple, but I needed it. I needed the sunshine. I needed to be outside. I needed the laughter and conversation. We needed this time together.

Lately it seems like life takes the breath out of me a little at a time… but today, and this ordinary afternoon, put it right back in!☀️
