Look up here, I'm in heaven
I've got scars that can't be seen
I've got drama, can't be stolen
Everybody knows me now
Look up here, man, I'm in danger
I've got nothing left to lose
I'm so high it makes my brain whirl
Dropped my cell phone down below
Ain't that just like me?
By the time I got to New York
I was living like a king
There I'd used up all my money
I was looking for your ass
This way or no way
You know, I'll be free
Just like that bluebird
Now, ain't that just like me?
Oh, I'll be free
Just like that bluebird
Oh, I'll be free
Ain't that just like me?

Lately I find myself grateful for the relationship Jansen and I are building together.

As life continues to move forward and change around us, she mentioned yesterday that she wants to make new memories me me and continue on this journey to finding what this next chapter of our lives can look like. I told her just how much that means to me. 🤍

There is an ease and a joy she brings into my life simply by being herself, and allowing me to be ME! She knows me, the real me, and loves me without judgment, unconditionally! I’m so glad I get to know her and that I also helped create her!

We really are a great team. 🫶🏻

I’m incredibly grateful that I get to be on this journey with her.

A little fall fun at @southernbellefarm this weekend! 🍂🎃🌻

Jansen and I have been coming here since she was little, and I love that it’s become one of those traditions we continue year after year. This year looked a little different, we were one down, but there was still so much joy in carrying on a tradition filled with so many good memories. 🤍

We made our way through the corn maze (my first one ever!), soaked up the sunshine, showed off our boots, laughed a lot, and came home with some yummy peaches, kettle corn, and, of course, our yearly pumpkin! 🍑🍿🎃

Life changes, traditions evolve, but we continue to make new memories!

First pre-Halloween activity: COMPLETE! 🍁 Now onto the next one…. Ghost tour + haunted house! 👻

A sunny afternoon. The top pulled back on the Jeep. A trail, fresh air, nowhere we needed to be, and time with Jansen.

My favorite part, at 12 years old, she still reaches for my hand and holds it while we walk. 🫶🏻 I know how lucky and important this is and I’m constantly trying to notice and be present for them.

Today was simple, but I needed it. I needed the sunshine. I needed to be outside. I needed the laughter and conversation. We needed this time together.

Lately it seems like life takes the breath out of me a little at a time… but today, and this ordinary afternoon, put it right back in!☀️

Dinner with Jansen, remembering and celebrating David tonight. ❤️ Two years later, there are still so many stories to tell. A little dinner, a little reminiscing, and a whole lot of love for someone who will always be part of us. 🤍 by @justjessajansen

Jansen and I had such a nice time catching up with @sax_cymbal last night! Grabbing some time with him while he is in town! 🤍

PS- I love how it says: AI Content because I brightened it up some. This is us, I promise. Though we wouldn’t mind looking like the versions of us from back in the day! Take us back to our former selves AI! 🤣💁🏼‍♀️ by @justjessajansen

Over the weekend, Jansen and I came out of a store to find our very first duck nesting on the handle. 🤍

Between the recent repairs, soft top upgrades, and getting everything back in shape, I’ve been feeling pretty proud of my Jeep lately. This simple gesture definitely put a smile on my face.

Spring gave us so much to celebrate, reflect on, and look forward to. 🤍

From spontaneous Jeep adventures and sunny afternoons around Atlanta, to quiet moments with our beloved pets, the season from Spring into Summer has been full of the little things that have meant the most.

Perhaps the biggest milestone of all was watching Jansen close out her elementary school years and say goodbye to a school that was part of her story for so long. While change is never easy, we’re choosing to focus on the excitement ahead: new beginnings, new friendships, new experiences, and a fresh chapter waiting to be written.

This photo dump is a collection of random moments, everyday joys, unexpected memories, and reminders that life is often found in the spaces between the big events.

As we head further into summer, my heart feels grateful. Grateful for growth. Grateful for resilience. Grateful for second chances, open roads, and the people (and pets) who make the journey worthwhile. 🫶🏻

Here’s to making memories, embracing new adventures, and seeing where summer takes us. ☀️🚙🐾🤍

AI Content note: my hair had mega roots and was messy looking so I asked AI to brighten it and the picture up. 🙄

Magical afternoon with Jansen at the @thefoxtheatre seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child @cursedchildus !

Absolutely incredible production and one of the most impressive shows I’ve ever seen. The stage effects alone were mind-blowing!

The best part though? Experiencing the magic together. 🪄✨ by @justjessajansen

Today called for a long afternoon walk with Jansen. The kind of walk where you follow the sunshine, take the longer trail, and don’t worry if you get a little lost along the way… which we did!

We wandered back to a spot we visited years ago with David and took a photo of her in the very same place. Same view. Same sweet girl. Different season of life.

It was one of those quiet, full-circle moments, honoring old memories while making new ones right on top of them.

Grief and growth can share the same path. And today, that path was warm, peaceful, and exactly what we needed. 🤍 by @justjessajansen

Happy 1st Birthday Jaycee! You have brought our lives much needed joy and Love! 🤍

Wishing everyone a magical and memorable New Year’s Eve and a beautiful start to 2026 ✨

Tonight, Jansen and I went to see Cirque du Soleil, Luzia, a show that holds such deep meaning for me. Years ago, David surprised me with this very same show. It was one of those nights that felt truly unforgettable.

Experiencing it again tonight, this time with our daughter, felt just as magical in a completely different way. Sharing something with her that he and I once shared reminded me how love carries forward, even when someone isn’t physically here. It felt like he was right there with us.

We carry him with us always - through memories, through traditions, and into this New Year 🤍

Here’s to love that endures, moments that matter, and stepping into 2026 with open hearts ✨🎆
