Happy 1st birthday to our beautiful little Norah Louise Ignetik…

The journey into parenthood has been nothing short of incredible. This first year has taught us so much and we’re so grateful for every day we get to spend with Norah. The sheer joy and happiness she brings into our lives is something that’s hard to put into words.

Some days have been long and tiring and at times madly frustrating, but somehow I cant really remember what life is like was like before she came along as cliche as it sounds. More than anything though Norah has brought immense purpose into our lives and we’ve been very lucky to spend almost every hour of every day with her throughout this first year, with us both working remotely from home.

It’s hard to believe that she’s no longer really a “baby” and is already starting to enter her toddler years. There’s so much love and pride in watching her discover the world around her one little thing at a time. Watching her perk up at the sound of certain birds (particular love for Gang Gangs), sticky-beaking at unfamiliar noises, splashing in the creek, scrunching her hands through the sand and discovering different textures, sounds and feelings has been such a privilege to watch. Before Norah, I had little to no interest in babies or kids. Now, I could happily spend hours just watching them play scoot around the joint.

Anyways, here’s to another year of learning about the world together, as the 3 of us, taking it slow, paying attention to the little things and to finding meaning in every little bit of it.
