NEW FACULTY SPOTLIGHT💡🗣️

Today we highlight Alyssa Kuhns! Alyssa is a design educator and registered architect whose work mediates the scope of products, materials, interiors, and architecture. We asked Alyssa some questions to welcome her to the WAAC!

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in your profession?

I have always loved solving puzzles, and when I started to learn about architecture in high school, I realized design activates a similar part of the brain and is really about problem solving. Since then, I have sustained a passion for architecture and design by continually learning new aspects of the field.

2. What have you most enjoyed so far about your time at the WAAC?

I’ve really enjoyed working with the students and faculty at WAAC. The structure here allows for many one-on-one interactions with students where I can quickly get to know them and their interests, especially in relation to their architectural education.

3. What is your favorite fall/seasonal coffee order?

Somehow, I have survived being an architect who doesn’t drink coffee. I do enjoy a London Fog with almond milk and the occasional (or frequent) Red Bull.
