I haven’t run that long in a while, and I kind of wish I’d done this last week when it was cold 😂 But my kids were off from school, so here we are.

There was something fun about trying to squeeze 13.1 miles in before my first work call. And I got to spend pretty much the entire run catching up with my friend and talking about dating, which has always been one of my favorite topics 😂

Always proud to be part of Team Milk 🥛❤️

Jumped on that work call with a glass of chocolate milk and got on with my day!

In late 1979, The Sugarhill Gang helped bring hip-hop into the mainstream with their groundbreaking hit “Rapper’s Delight.” Their appearance on Soul Train introduced television audiences to a new musical movement built around rhythmic rhymes, infectious beats, and the art of passing the microphone between MCs. With Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Big Bank Hank delivering their verses over the unmistakable groove inspired by Chic’s “Good Times,” the group brought a fresh sound to a stage traditionally associated with soul, funk, and disco. At a time when hip-hop was still largely an underground movement rooted in New York City, performances like this helped introduce rap to a much wider audience. Wonder Mike’s iconic opening, the group’s coordinated delivery, and the energy of the Soul Train dancers captured the excitement of a genre finding its voice. “Rapper’s Delight” went on to become the first rap single to reach the US Billboard Hot 100 Top 40, helping pave the way for generations of hip-hop artists. 28 years of Without You I’m Nothing 🖤 Go on, try picking just ONE song from this album. I dare you! And If you could only quote one line, which would it be? Placebo’s second studio album, ‘Without You I’m Nothing’, a timeless alternative rock classic, was released on 12 October 1998 and reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. If Placebo's self-titled debut was the night before, Without You I'm Nothing is the morning after. Whereas their first singles swaggered with libidinous confidence, the songs on Without You reek of self-loathing, guilt, and shame. “By the time that we came off tour, I was in such a fragile emotional state that I ended up on anti-depressants. I was just fucked up. I'd taken my soul through the blender, and I really just didn't know who I was anymore. I was disgusted with myself.” But adversity has always been an engine of creativity. After coming off the road, the band locked themselves into a subterranean room with no windows for two months and wrote the new record. “We had to do a lot of soul-searching. We had to really look inside of ourselves and... realise what we had done. I think there's a lot of guilt on that record, and it talks about a few relationships that I had which I think that I basically did my best to ruin but I didn't know any better at the time. It's a very heartbroken album.” Looking back at Without You I'm Nothing 28 years later, the album was a major building block in shaping Placebo into the band we know today.
