Kauaʻi is back open to visitors💛 I’m often asked where to eat, shop and spend money locally when visiting Kauaʻi, and i thought this could be a win-win to help people find those businesses.

*A few areas still need time and love after Hurricane Lowell (Wainiha to Hā’ena in particular are sensitive areas still so consider not going past Hanalei)*, but for much of the island, one of the best things you can do if you have a trip planned is come mindfully and spend with the people who live here.

I’m starting a running list right here in the comments. I don’t know how big it’ll get, but next time someone asks me where to go, I’d love to have an easy resource to point them towards :)

🌺🫶🏽And small business owners: please don’t be shy about adding yourself! That’s literally the point we want to find you🥹

From the archives: East Borneo.
The magic of this place is hard to describe. We only spent 5 days here and were constantly mind blown at each stop.

There’s something really special about sisterhood. She lets me be me, and loves me for it. I let her be her, and I love her for it :)

To have a sister like mine is to have a cheerleader, a sounding board, a mini life coach, and a hilarious (OUTRAGEOUSLY) funny storyteller. I wish for everyone to have a person in their life like that, by blood or not.

So I got her a bike because for me it represents the thing that makes me most free and happy.

I got her a bike because I want her to be part of every good thing in my world.

And I got her a bike because idk there are no words to describe how absurdly cool that I get to do life with this human.

Love you @sydney.noelani . From your (way too adventurous) big sis

The shape of home🌺🌊🌴

a bit of a spontaneous experiment to be honest. I’ve been told I “see the world through rose-colored glasses” so I guess now you’re all seeing what I see. A world of color and movement, imperfect and breathtaking nonetheless.🤓

Some people are good at being creative under pressure. I’m the opposite. I often feel the most inspired when I’m alone and there’s good light and no pressure to have a certain outcome. I shot the palm tree photo first (last frame) and loved how it gave it this nostalgic film like look.

Then I went on a spontaneous mission to try this same look with the silhouette of a surfer. The only problem is I’m terribly shy about asking people if I can photograph them. The light was fading when I saw a girl walking in with her longboard and I knew it was now or never.

Thank you @gingerlei for being so sweet and instantly understanding the vision :)

All in camera (Canon EOS R5), almost no editing, I shot these through my @goodinbed glasses.

What do you guys think? Artsy or too strange?

A question I get is: if you can be happy so many places, why choose at all? Why not just keep traveling?

I do LOVE travel. I learn so much. I am a very Sagittarius, exploration-oriented human. I think I have at least one more big move in me somewhere abroad.

All that being said, I can see how in the long term (for me personally), moving this much - finding houses, cars, repacking, timezone switches, figuring out routines all over again - takes A LOT of energy away from other things that mean a lot to me: purpose, health, family, deep friendships.

As much as I’m grateful for this living everywhere experiment…I don’t want to always be a visitor. I want to know a place not just its sunny days. I think so much of belonging comes from the alchemy of presence and contribution🫶🏽

So the dream is still a space that is home. That is mine and I can decorate how I imagine🥹

When I do spiral into “ahhh hurry up and just decide already”, I try to tell my brain to stop stressing over some imagined timeline.

Stress is fear that it won’t happen.

I’ve switched that to my “experiment” mindset which is excited for the process whatever the outcome🙃

Werbung.

Show Isreal the Red Card.»
