“Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” This famous saying means that if something is important enough to deserve your time and effort, you should try to do it properly rather than carelessly. It encourages dedication, attention to detail, and taking pride in your work, regardless of how small or ordinary the task may seem. The saying is often attributed to Philip Stanhope, the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, who expressed a similar idea in the 18th century. Interestingly, there’s also a modern variation: “Anything worth doing is worth doing badly at first.” It reminds us that perfection isn’t always necessary and that sometimes making an imperfect start is better than never starting at all. Some men find it difficult to throw away old or seemingly useless items because they see potential future value in them. A broken appliance might contain useful parts, an old cable could come in handy, and a random piece of wood might eventually solve a problem. This tendency can be influenced by practical experience, sentimental attachment, dislike of waste, and the satisfaction of repairing things instead of buying replacements. However, it isn’t exclusive to men. Psychologically, this behavior is linked to loss aversion and the endowment effect, which make people reluctant to discard things they already own. The possibility of needing an item someday can feel more important than the inconvenience of storing it for years. That’s why some garages contain mysterious collections of screws, cables, broken electronics, and wooden planks. A man might not have touched something in 15 years, but the day he finally needs it, he’ll consider the entire collection justified. Like this content? Follow us for more @dadsaysjokes ❤️

Born with congenital scoliosis, 17-year-old Sririta Phikun has always longed to walk upright and be treated like everyone else. “I didn’t want people to think I was weaker than them, and for them to judge me because I look different,” she said. After years of surgeries, including a high-risk operation on her 17th birthday, she is now able to walk upright. As she continues to recover, Sririta is looking forward to returning to school next year, learning to swim, and pursuing her dream of working in aviation or nursing. She also no longer draws the same unwanted attention when she goes out. "I'm very grateful for a lot of things," she said. #mothershipsocialsoriginals
