Pastor Israel Idowu arrested for S+x¥ally Abusing his stepdaughter from age 14 till she became 16 and threatened to k+ll her if she tells anyone

The Ogun State Police Command has detained a Celestial Church pastor, Omogbolahan Israel Idowu, over allegations that he s+x¥ally abused his 16-year-old stepdaughter.

According to SaharaReporters, the arrest followed a petition by the Lagos State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), which accused the pastor of abusing the girl from age 14 and threatening to k+ll her if she reported the alleged abuse.

In a petition dated October 26, 2026, addressed to the Shimawa Police Division, CDHR alleged that the abuse began after the teenager’s mother, Bukola Rachel Omogbolahan, married Idowu and moved with her children into his residence in the Ologbo Ark area of Shimawa.

The organisation claimed that the alleged abuse continued after the girl turned 16, leaving her and her elder brother fearful for their safety.

CDHR said the police invited the suspect, his wife and another Celestial Church pastor after receiving the petition. The suspect and the victim’s mother were subsequently detained after their statements were obtained.

The teenager was also taken to Shimawa General Hospital on October 28 for medical examinations, with the results handed over to investigators.

According to CDHR, the case files were transferred to the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran on October 30 before the matter was moved to the D3 Gender Unit in Oke-Ilewo.

The organisation further alleged that Idowu admitted to s+xual contact with the teenager during questioning, claiming he told investigators that he had “only f+ngered her once and only had s+x with her once.”

CDHR said the pastor remained in detention as investigations continued and that it would be informed of his arraignment after the investigation was concluded.

Up and moving for the first time. This is from yesterday.

Thank you guys for all the love and support. Still sharing to show the reality of what I and many other service-members have gone through and continue to deal with on the daily.

Never for pity, but awareness.
