THREE BLACK MEN. THREE JOURNEYS. ONE LOVE FOR FOOD.

I had the pleasure of hanging with my brothers Keon Cilly from Rack City Ribs in London and Matthew Robinson, the Jamaica Food Boss. What started as a quick interview turned into a real talk about passion, purpose, food, culture, and how you keep going when you’re building something you really believe in. Keon blended his Jamaican roots with Southern barbecue and built something special in London. Matthew’s been showing the world the real Jamaica, spotlighting the food, the people, the culture, the hidden gems. And me? Chef Quie, Harlem, Charles Pan Fried Chicken, and Cooking with Shirley’s Son. Carrying our traditions forward and using food to open doors for the next generation. Different cities, different journeys, same passion. London. Jamaica. Harlem. Just three Black men who love food and know this is bigger than us. Nothing forced. Nothing scripted. Just brothers talking, sharing knowledge, laughing, learning, keeping each other inspired. That’s what food is supposed to do.

I had to try @jaydeescatering fried dumpling, its the size of a cricket ball , packed with jerk chicken and fried plantain.

Stepped into a culinary adventure today, encountering a fried dumpling as substantial as a cricket ball! 🥟 This golden orb was bursting with a flavor explosion of perfectly seasoned jerk chicken, a true testament to bold ingredients. It had that kind of delightful, unexpected crunch that just screams, "You gotta try this!" 💥 Honestly, it was a flavor bomb worthy of a detour, bringing a taste of the islands straight to my plate. This dish is an absolute knockout, a must-have for any serious food explorer. 💯 #Food #FlavorExplosion #FoodAdventure #MustTry

We did it!! I can’t even begin to explain how accomplished I feel after showing for the first time and getting to do it with my husband makes it even more special. There aren’t enough thank yous in the world to @liascrenci and @voladofarms for getting us here 🙌🏼 Da Vinci is the best partner anyone could ask for and took such amazing care of me through it all and we even came home taking 2nd both rounds! So much more to come!!

6 star finisher 🌟 ran my 15th marathon today and it did not go how I hoped it would. I snoozed my alarm for a good hour and then had to sprint a couple miles to the start line, with no coffee. And then I just felt overheated for basically the entire race lol. I’ve never stopped at the med tents so much during a race, I probably went at least 10 times to cover my legs in biofreeze 🤣

I texted my family group chat “why tf do I do this!?” at mile 18… but answered my own question when I had the magical experience of receiving my six-star medal, and with no miles ahead of me (for today) got to reflect on the incredible energy of this city.

When I ran my first marathon it’s about three years ago, I never thought it would take me around the world, or introduce me to such an incredible global community like it has. The sport has truly changed my life… and my career, for the better!

Next up, NYC…
