On this day four years ago, we lost Robbie Coltrane, the beloved actor who brought Hagrid to life 🕊️❤️
For millions who grew up with Harry Potter, Hagrid made Hogwarts feel like home. Robbie gave the gentle giant his warmth, loyalty, and enormous heart, reminding us that being different never made anyone less deserving of love.
Reflecting on the films’ lasting impact during the 2022 reunion, Robbie shared these words: “I’ll not be here, sadly. But Hagrid will.”
With Nick Frost stepping into the role for HBO’s new Harry Potter series, Hagrid will welcome another generation into the wizarding world. And for those who grew up with Robbie, his place in that world will always be his.

Watched the series over when Dumbledore passed away, then again when McGonagall passed, then Snape, and Hagrid. Rewatching these amazing movies over when the cast is no longer with us is a feeling you will never forget
